Teaching High School Science
Rob Knop has an interesting post on teaching science. I like his conclusion:
There’s a lot of stuff to know in science, a lot of facts and answers. But what’s both harder and more satisfying is learning the scientific mode of thinking, learning how to take given facts and correlations and how to draw conclusions or understanding from them.
But there is much more to the post than that…
I also like using an inquiry based module for instruction. I now enjoy blogging with my students concerning their progress in the course and how to analyze objectives. critical thinking akills must be taught along with the cognitive academic language
